When attaching things to each other we have two categories of attachment

CAN NOT LOSE AND CAN LOSE

CAN NOT LOSE
You Can Not Lose Your Safety Spool - You Can Not Lose Your Backup
Lights etc
As such these are all attached to the piston bolts via cave line only

CAN LOSE
You can lose your pressure gauge and your long hose clip, - as neither
will go anywhere since they are attached to you (by the hose) yes its a
pain if the piston bolt comes off but its not a dive calling failure

As such these could have the O ring or cable tie solution - In reality
these "break away" type work better on the SPG as if it gets hung up on
a wreck, cutting the cave line means two moves - pulling the knife and
dealing with the cave line. One move, breaking it away, is faster
underwater.

Re Tie Wraps : don't use them where there is a twisting action as they
will always break (when you don't want them to - if you have this
situation use the O ring to absorb the twist) also don't use the ones
with the metal tooth as it rusts and the tie wrap fails. Also don't
use the reusable ones either (the ones where you can push a clip and un
ravel the tie)
