In Windermere there's Blake Holme a nice drop off down to about 30
metres complete with scouring from the glacier that formed Windermere.
The point in front of Wray Castle is quite good with cliffs, drop offs
etc. The lake goes down to 70 metres near here! Both these are boat
access though and this needs to be Lakes Registered. These a shore dive
from an NT car park near the Beech Hill pub on to a couple of wrecks in
15 and 20 metres. (not much to look at but they do make a change from
the mud). There's also a longish drift down river from the bottom of
Windermere to Newby Bridge. (need two sets of cars or boat cover). Viz
can be any thing from 0.5 to 5 metres.
